Route 2026 in motion

Tour de France on footbikes

Basically everybody knows the annual men´s multiple-stage road cycling race called Tour de France. It might be the most prominent cycling race of the world and the first edition was held already in 1903. Much later, in 2022, emerged a shorter, women´s version of this event, with the name Tour de France Femmes.

Next year, the participants will start in Lausanne in Switzerland. There will be nine stages in nine days and before they reach the final destination in Nice in France, the racers will cover the distance of 1175 kilometres. It seems like it is not too much for cyclists, but what about going all this way on footbikes? Well, we will test whether it is possible, and the result will be clear in August 2026, when the official race takes place, and when the completion on footbikes, every stage one day before the official cycling peloton, will be attempted by the women´s team of the Kick France Femmes 2026 project.

Covering the route of cycling racer is nothing new in the world of footbikes, and the participants will follow in the footsteps of their male colleagues. The original men´s version of Tour de France was covered by a group of footbikers in 2013, famous Italian Grand tour called Giro d´Italia four years later and the whole cycle was finished by another team in 2025, when they finished the last of the big three, La Vuelta in Spain. In all three cases, however, they were just men´s teams, so a full women team is something completely new. So, if you will, the date for your diaries is July 31st – August 8th and keep your fingers crossed!

This is the official route of 2026 TdFF
